Dear folks at the Stottsville Inn,
This is a bit late but
nonetheless, I wanted to thank you for the wonderful time we had at
the Stottsville Inn on Valentine’s Day when we came for dinner. It
was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone
was so friendly and nice starting right at the entrance all the way
through our experience. Our waitress, Lauren, was wonderful. She was
efficient, friendly, and helpful. Our meal was excellent. It could
not have been a nicer experience. We are looking forward to
returning for another special occasion in the near future.
This was a very special Valentine’s Day for us – last year, my
husband had surgery on February 13 and on Valentine’s Day, he lay in
the ICU on a ventilator. We did not realize it then, but we were in
for a very rough year following the surgery. He had a long hospital
stay followed by a very long recovery and we are thankful he is
alive and fairly well. It was very important for us to celebrate
Valentine’s Day this year.
Thank you for the superb service
and food that you provide.

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated our 24th Wedding Anniversary.
I saw the ad for your restaurant in our local Avon Grove Sun
newspaper and decided to make a reservation. We arrived just before
7 PM – and were greeted by your wonderful hostess – who seated us in
Josephine’s Parlor – that was very nice. It was a bit warm in there
and just mentioning it to our waitress – the air conditioning was in
full gear within seconds. I must say, our meal consisting of Cesar
salad, Shrimp Lejon, Flounder Stuffed with crabmeat & Filet with a
crab cake – was excellent. My husband is one of the world’s great
cooks – and many times we are so disappointed with our dining
experience. This was not so last evening. We were really provided
with the best service – everyone smiling at all times. After our
dinner, we went into the Pub area and enjoyed so much listening to
Bob Croce who played the most beautiful music. Our entire experience
at the Stottsville Inn was 100% pure pleasurable. We look very
forward to our next meal at
your establishment.
Best of Luck to all of you during these difficult times!

How about a delicate sauce over hand picked crab stuffed mushroom caps- chef arriving tableside to make your salad, with your choice of herbs artfully creating a remarkably clean tasting dressing. Then the chateaubriand. It arrived on a large platter, surrounded by a melange of carefully chosen vegetables-beets, broccoli, squash, whipped potato, and grilled tomato- then sliced and presented by the maitre'd. Perfectly cooked- it was truly melting in my mouth. Service was not overbearing. It was warm, friendly and not phony. The chef has unlimited experience in one of the top kitchens in Chester County. Now he owns the Stottsville. The Inn also has a lighter fare menu in the Busy Bee Room- a bar and more casual for weekly fare. But when you want the top of the line- come for the perfectly balanced menu- try the lamb, or veal or the several interesting specials offered. A very nice wine list and a balanced menu will make us return often.

My family had a celebration dinner at your establishment last night. It was perfect. This was our first time at your restaurant, but it surely will not be our last. The young lady waiting on us was fantastic, do not remember her name unfortunately but she did tell us she worked with autistic children. The meal, the ambiance (sorry, not sure which room it was but it was large, was excellent. I am not normally given to sending emails such as this bit I felt the evening was so superb, I had to. My son and I had the escargot. I have lived in Belgium for half a dozen years but never had escargot this good. We could not for the life of us figure out what was in the sauce, but everyone at the table used up several rolls finishing it off. Thanks for a great evening.

This place is truly what you consider a hidden secret. From the time
you walk through the door it's like stepping back in time. The food
is out of this world. The staff is incredibly welcoming. Our server
was the best. The combination of good food and service has us coming
back for more. The menu selection is great there are so many choices
from a night of fine dining to just a simple night out for
sandwiches. I give Jack chef/owner a gold star and the young lady
out front one also, and all the staff as well we wish them the best
of luck. Check them out you will not be disappointed.
TalkBack Entertainment - A New Site for Sunday Dining - October

The Stottsville Inn, just one mile east of Parkesburg, Chester Co,
on Rte 372, is now under new management and is open for lunch on
Sunday. The menu runs the gamit from Eggs Benedict at about $8.50 to
superb filet Mignon with Bernaise at about $17.00, with a bunch of
other excellent
entrees inn between. Truly magnificent "specials" such as
Saltimbocca (to die for), round out a high order of "after church"
cuisine of a sort not to be found for many miles in any direction.
The re-entry of this ancient hostelry into the Sunday noontime
circuit marks a rare and delicious event in Chester, and nearby
Lancaster County dining. For Sunday brunch, lunch or dinner the
Stottsville Inn is worth a drive from most anywhere! More info at
www.stottsville.com about this 200 year old landmark.
